Sjota Iatasjvili is chief editor of the literary journal Alternativa, a publication of the Caucasion House cultural centre in Tblisi. He has appeared at leading international festivals. His poetry is marked by a penchant for the commonplace and an eclectic use of language in describing it. Iatashvili writes short stories and essays as well as poetry. Currently he is compiling an anthology of contemporary poetry from the South Caucasus. Iatashivili also publishes poetry and prose under the name of his female alter ego, Diana Vatshnadze.
