DJ MPS Pilot is based in Amsterdam and plays a unique blend of musical styles he calls eclectic worldgroove. He studied ethnomusicology and travelled widely in Asia, Africa and the Arab countries. He was "amazed" by the music he heard and was inspired to become a DJ in order to bring all those sounds to the western dance floors.
His eclectic approach to DJing includes spinning both traditional non-western material from South- and Middle America, Africa, Arab countries and Asia mixed with conventional western grooves such as Dance, 2-Step, Hip Hop, R'n B, and Reggae. His sets are fluent, danceable and a great adventure. Pilot is not just playing a lot of diverse records; he is making music with the songs he uses.
